In the Spotlight: Documentary Family Photography Exhibition at Les Rencontres d'Arles Festival 2022 and the Too Tired Project

This summer I had the privilege of being a part of two photography exhibitions - the Family (Un)expected exhibition at Les Rencontres d'Arles in southern France, and the Carry My Heart online exhibition from the Too Tired Project.

Les Rencontres d'Arles is the world’s oldest and largest photography festival since 1970. Apart from a break during covid, it takes place each summer in the town of Arles, France. This year it returned to the south of France and I was honoured to have my photograph featured in a multimedia exhibit as one of the shortlisted photographers amongst the 90 of the documentary family photographers worldwide in the Family (Un)expected exhibition. The exhibition shows images with diverse stories of everyday family life and its norms within the true lived experiences. Read more about the special exhibition here and view the slideshow of the shortlisted images in the YouTube video.

‘Winter Gloves’ was also in DFP’s Transforming Perspectives exhibition curated by Tiffanie Graham, Photo Editor of New York Post written in my blog here

The second exhibition was a juried exhibition, Carry My Heart, at Too Tired Project. My photograph was selected for the show in their open call and curated by Troy Colby. The theme based around Carry My Heart show images that represented the feel and meaning of family and intimacy in a heartfelt way. The online exhibition can be viewed here.
