Artefact Motherhood | December 2023

Our one last getaway this year was quite an eventful experience. I’ll never forget the sense of dread as I thought we’d lost our car under inches of sewage water, as the local roads flooded following a night of heavy rain and the combination of high tide being close to the sea. It’s amazing how our minds suddenly shifted gears in those moments while we problem-solved and map out how we would make an alternative way home. Luckily it never came to that, which we were most grateful for and were even able to make the best kinds of memories during this trip. This one definitely topped it for the both of you, my boys, because what adventure would it be for our little family without some mishaps! It’s a story I’m sure we will continue to bring up for many years to come!

This is part of Artefact Motherhood - a collaboration of artists/mothers from around the world. Sharing stories of the joys and struggles of our journey. Our hopes and dreams for our children. With little nuggets of wisdom here and there. These are more than photographs with dates written on the back. These are the artefact we are leaving behind for children and the generations to come.
